I absolutely love traveling—the excitement of getting away, leaving my work laptop behind, and lounging on a beach bed while waiting for my husband to bring me another cocktail is just yesss. Something I love even more is to plan the airport outfits and of course the vacation fits too. But, unfortunately, my wallet doesn’t feel the same way. This year, our motto is “Austerity for Prosperity,” which means making short-term sacrifices to build a more stable and rewarding outcome.
With that in mind, I’m making an effort to avoid unnecessary purchases and instead focus on versatile pieces that I can mix and match. It’s like creating an airport outfit capsule wardrobe—having a few key items that can be styled in different ways to keep things fresh and interesting, without having tons of clothes. So, I’ve been brainstorming some ideas for airport outfits that are both stylish and functional.
When it comes to airport outfits, my vibe is to look put together while still feeling comfortable. There’s no way I’m traveling in jogging pants and a hoodie. I want to feel relaxed but still look like I didn’t just roll out of the gym. I’ve noticed that when you look a bit more polished, it influences how people treat you, especially in tricky situations at the airport. It’s as if the staff respond based on how they perceive you. Plus, it doesn’t hurt to practice for when I eventually fly first class (laughs in fake it till you make it).
These are just the base looks for my airport outfits, but I then play around with accessories—shoes, jewelry, hats, jackets, and handbags—to make each outfit more unique to me.

So tell me, which one is your favorite? I have to say, even though it looks good, I wouldn’t dare going on a flight that is longer that 3 hours in bright colored pants. I just can’t and won’t risk accidents.
